about
Erik G. Hunter is a Cinematographer based in Brooklyn, NY.
He has carried an insatiable passion for narrative filmmaking since he reenacted Jack’s death scene from the Titanic with his pet hamsters as a seven-year-old. The VHS tape of those events has since been recorded over and those hamsters have passed on (of natural causes unrelated to their acting work), but Erik’s appetite for storytelling remains in fine fettle.
He has developed a love for writing and directing Lovecraftian comedic films and dark comedies; with a specialization in cinematography.
In addition to several short films, which include The Right People (2024), This is not My Fault (2024), and Trapped (2023), which was a semi-finalist in the Los Angeles Indie Film Festival, Erik was the Director of Photography on the found footage feature film The Depths (2024).
He enjoys blending genres and dipping his toes into every role on set. Except boom operator. He tried that once. His arms got tired.
